The Cisco WS-C2960-48TC-L is a fixed-configuration Layer 2 Fast Ethernet switch, purpose-built for branch offices, wiring closets, and SMBs needing reliable, affordable, and secure network connectivity. It features 48 10/100 Ethernet ports for desktop and device access, along with 2 dual-purpose uplink ports that support either 10/100/1000Base-T or SFP-based fiber modules, providing flexible deployment options.
Designed with Cisco’s LAN Base software, this model offers essential Layer 2 features along with QoS, port security, VLAN support, Spanning Tree enhancements, and basic Layer 2 management. It's ideal for networks where high availability, simplicity, and predictable performance are critical but advanced Layer 3 routing or stacking are not required.
The switch has a side-to-side airflow pattern with an internal fan for cooling. It is a non-stackable, rack-mountable device best suited for standalone deployments in quieter, space-sensitive environments such as office floors or branch networks.
