Supermicro SuperServer 1029-WTR is mainly used as, Web Server, Firewall Apps, Corporate-Wins, DNS, Print, Login, Gateway, provisioning servers, Compact Network Appliance, Cloud Computing. Used in this server mainboard has two LGA 3647 (P) Sockets, which allow to install Intel Xeon Scalable 2nd gen processors and 12 RAM slots thanks to which you can install up to 3TB of memory DDR4-2933MHz(Supports Intel® Optane™ DCPMM). Additionally it has 2 PCI-E 3.0 x16 (FHHL) slots, 1 PCI-E 3.0 x8 (LP) slot, 1 PCI-E 3.0 x16 for Add-on-Module, (Support SAS3 Storage controller), 1 PCI-E 3.0 x4 NVMe M.2 slot, 2x 1GbE LAN ports via Intel C621. The device also has 8 Hot-swap 2,5” drive bays and it is able to handle SAS drives(requires to install additional controller). Server is powered by two 750W redundant power supplies with energetic efficiency 80 PLUS Platinum. It is compatible with VMware ESXi, Microsoft Windows Server 2016 i 2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Ubuntu Server.
